Suncoast Institute was the first and continues to be the only
practice-based institute for hospice and palliative care education,
research, consultation and innovation.
We understand that care models and systems can be
improved through purposeful research and study.
Suncoast Hospice established this division to assure that
hospice and palliative care organizations have the tools they
need to provide optimal care and services.
Our educational programs, training materials and resources are
for hospices, health systems, home health, long term care and human
service providers. They are based on a proven track record
of quality driven care and expierience spanning more than 30
years.
Course studies and training programs are available in a variety
of formats.

Webinars - This technology allows the participant to sit at his
or her own computer and be connected to other participants via the
Internet. It is typically "one-way," from the speaker to the
audience with limited interaction.
- Learning Management System (LMS)- This is another web-based
tool to facilitate the delivery, tracking, managing of training and
education. The LMS software makes it possible to distribute course
work over the Internet and features online collaboration.

Materials - The Institute has compiled thousands of pages of
research materials and makes them available to hospice
organizations everywhere. As pioneers in the field of end-of-life
medicine, The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast has current
information and concurrent training for every detail of the
operation of a hospice.
